Finance Business Partner
Location: HMP Forest Bank
We are seeking a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to play a key role in driving financial performance and supporting operational decision‑making at HMP Forest Bank.
This is a high‑impact role where you will provide financial leadership, deliver insight‑led analysis, and work closely with senior stakeholders to optimise performance within a complex contract environment.
The Role
You will lead all financial planning and reporting activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and month‑end processes, ensuring robust controls and high‑quality output. Acting as a trusted advisor to the operational team, you will interpret financial data, challenge performance, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
You will also oversee financial compliance, support contract management, and contribute to strategic initiatives, while leading and developing a small finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and insightful financial reporting, analysis, and forecasts
- Partner with operational leaders to drive performance and informed decision‑making
- Identify risks, opportunities, and efficiency improvements across the contract
- Ensure strong financial governance, controls, and compliance
- Support commercial strategy, contract performance, and business planning
- Lead, develop, and manage a team of finance professionals
About You
- Qualified accountant with significant post‑qualification experience
- Proven experience in finance business partnering at a senior level
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence and challenge
- Highly analytical, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Excellent stakeholder management skills in a complex, matrix environment
- Experience within large or complex contract environments is desirable
