Overview
Provide safe frontline reactive maintenance, identify root causes, bring equipment back into service quickly, and seek cost-effective improvements to site assets and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure effective handover of information across shift.
- Use PMS to support prioritisation and problem-solving (RCFA).
- Diagnose faults and test, repair and maintain mechanical/electrical equipment.
- Observe, recognise and report machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure, providing CMMS data.
- Contact OEMs and suppliers for technical support and expedite parts when not available on site.
- Lead shift-based problem solving where corrective actions aren’t clear.
- Work as ONE TEAM with First Line Response Technician.
- Coach operators with asset-care tasks.
- Identify and implement improvements.
- Identify life-cycle issues and raise these with possible recommendations.
- Use and support simple 5WHY OE techniques/RCA techniques through to 100 year fix.
- Use and support departmental 5S programmes for workshops and stores.
Qualifications
- Recognised apprenticeship.
- Experience within maintenance.
- Manufacturing industry experience.
- Mechanical/Electrical bias.
- ONC/HNC.
- IOSH/Nebosh – desirable.
- Electrical qualification.
- Multiskilled engineer experience.
