NRL are looking for an Electrical Technical Services Manager to work on an interim basis for a leading M&E contractor. The role involves electrical technical management support on the NW region MOJ portfolio in support of the technical strategy for the projects. Work includes technical reviews, attendance and management of technical meetings, monthly reporting, CDM/Designing for Safety reviews, governance support to the Regional Technical Director. EL1 security clearance and BPSS are an essential requirement of the role. Previous custodial experience preferred but not essential.

Leadership & Strategic Support

  • Support the Regional Technical Director and Principal Technical Manager in delivering the engineering management strategy by undertaking technical management tasks as allocated.

Work Winning

  • Responsible for allocated tasks on regional bids & cost plans.
  • Ownership of and participation in relevant Operating Framework Activities.
  • Bid Engineering Review / Bid Engineering Dashboard & incorporation into bid/tender.
  • Validation of significant value & risk CDP packages, plant & equipment – technical scope & content.
  • Bid Strategy contributions.
  • Critical Friend strategy.
  • Best value design solutions.
  • Optimise PRISM/OSM & PMV.
  • Key DIE activities & collaboration with Estimating.
  • Value engineering options.
  • Creating specific bid winning themes and competitive advantage.

Work in Hand

  • Responsible for allocated tasks on regional projects.
  • Contribute to Designing for Safety & CDM.
  • Management of design activities in collaboration with WCL Design Managers & WBS Commercial Managers.
  • Attending relevant Design Team Meetings.
  • Ownership of and participation in relevant Operating Framework Activities.
  • Design Reviews & management of technical actions.
  • Create & identify value engineering & value management proposals.
  • Technical review of major packages, plant & equipment.
  • Review of significant Technical Submittals.
  • Verify the site installation against the design.
  • Trouble shooting – significant technical issues only.
