Mechanical and Electrical Fitters required to work within Rolling Stock. Rullion have a requirement for Maintenance Team Members, with strong electrical and mechanical skills, backed up with associated qualifications, to work on a contract for a leading rail company. You will be working as part of a large maintenance team on the Trans-Pennine Express fleet, based at Manchester Train Care Centre.

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: Long term (No expected end date)

Location: Manchester M12 4HR

Rates and Shift Patterns: Trans Pennine Express Fleet Days only (Earlies and Lates)

  • Pre 12 Weeks: PAYE £23.38 per hour / Umbrella £29.83 per hour
  • Post 12 Weeks: PAYE £26.54 per hour / Umbrella £35.74 per hour

PPE will be provided by Rullion and Tooling by the client.

Description: Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be a senior team member, servicing, maintaining and repairing prestigious rolling stock fleets. Within the team you will ensure that traction and rolling stock are serviced and maintained in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner whilst constantly seeking to improve quality.

Main Tasks:

  • Corrective maintenance (Electrical and Mechanical)
  • Preventative maintenance (Electrical and Mechanical)
  • Basic maintenance competency, e.g., side skirt cleans, brake pads, block changes etc.
  • Primary and secondary fault finding/reporting
  • Depot or fleet specific requirements where required
  • DMU/ELEC service exams
  • Basic SAP, SES input and IT recording of tasks
  • Depot cleaning and general housekeeping duties
  • Driving company vehicles if certified

Health and Safety: Understand and abide by safety notices, rules and regulations and follow safe working practices H&SAWA and COSHH. Comply with Life Saving Rules.

Key skills and requirements for the role include:

  • Must be located in the North-West region of the UK.
  • Time served apprenticeship in Electrical / Dual Engineering or an ONC or NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Electrical or Dual Engineering/Maintenance.
  • Rail experience (Not essential), Aerospace, Military Engineering, HGV or Large Transportation.
  • In-depth fault-finding experience.
  • Basic MS Office IT skills.
  • Prepared to work shifts including days, nights and weekends depending on shift pattern.
  • Must reside in the North-West region of the UK.
