The postholder supports the governance and oversight of Digital projects, Digital programmes and Digital change initiatives within Digital Services. The role provides delivery assurance by analysing programme and project information, preparing governance reporting outputs and maintaining governance records to support organisational oversight of delivery progress, risks, dependencies and readiness. The postholder implements Digital change governance processes, including the Digital Front Door and associated governance stages, to ensure Digital initiatives are managed in accordance with agreed organisational procedures. The role provides information, guidance and reporting to Programme Managers, Project Managers and governance forums to support consistent application of governance processes and to enable informed decision‑making. You will be responsible for the supervision, development and appraisal of the Delivery Assurance team only. You will provide support and input to projects within Digital Services and across the Trust as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Lead delivery assurance activity across Digital projects, programmes and change initiatives, providing clear oversight of progress, risks, dependencies and readiness.
- Analyse delivery information including highlight reports, plans and risk registers to identify issues early and support timely escalation through governance routes.
- Produce high-quality dashboards, reports and governance papers that provide senior leaders with clear, actionable insight into Digital delivery performance.
- Support the operation of Digital governance forums, including the Digital Portfolio Delivery Committee (DPDC), ensuring accurate, timely and well‑structured information is available for decision‑making.
- Ensure Digital change initiatives follow agreed governance processes, including the Digital Front Door, triage, delivery control and post‑implementation review stages.
- Work closely with Programme Managers and Project Managers to strengthen governance standards, improve reporting quality and ensure consistent application of delivery controls.
- Maintain accurate and auditable governance records, supporting transparency, compliance and organisational learning across Digital Services.
- Coordinate governance cycles and reporting timelines across multiple Digital initiatives, ensuring delivery activity is reviewed and monitored effectively.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivery Assurance: Plans and undertakes delivery assurance reviews of Digital projects, Digital programmes and Digital change initiatives by examining highlight reports, delivery plans, risk registers and readiness documentation to determine delivery status and identify risks or dependencies.
- Evaluates delivery information and supporting documentation relating to Digital initiatives to identify delivery progress, constraints and governance compliance for reporting through agreed governance processes.
- Prepares and produces assurance summaries and reports using programme and project documentation to present delivery status, risks and dependencies to governance forums.
- Identifies and records delivery risks, issues and dependencies from programme and project documentation to ensure they are captured within governance reporting and escalation processes.
- Provides information and clarification to the Digital Business Service Lead, Programme Managers and Project Managers regarding governance reporting requirements to ensure delivery documentation is prepared in accordance with agreed governance processes.
- Digital Governance: Prepares governance documentation and reporting information relating to Digital projects, Digital programmes and Digital change initiatives to support review by governance groups.
- Schedules and coordinates governance reporting activities including submission of highlight reports and assurance updates to ensure delivery information is reviewed within agreed governance timelines.
- Maintains governance records relating to Digital initiatives to ensure that decisions, actions and reporting information are recorded in accordance with organisational record management requirements.
- Liaises with programme and project teams to collect delivery information required for governance reporting and assurance reviews.
- Digital Change Governance: Processes Digital change requests received through the Digital Front Door process to confirm that requests have followed agreed governance routes prior to entry into Digital Services workflows.
- Maintains records of Digital change requests and associated governance decisions to ensure an auditable record of requests, approvals and prioritisation outcomes.
- Monitors Digital initiatives progressing through governance stages including intake, triage, delivery readiness and post‑implementation review to ensure progress is recorded and reported.
- Liaises with stakeholders involved in Digital change processes including programme teams, business representatives and governance groups to gather information required for governance reporting.
- Risk and Issue Management: Maintains records of delivery risks and issues identified through assurance reviews to support governance oversight and reporting.
- Evaluates risk information from programme and project documentation to identify delivery risks and dependencies for inclusion within governance reports.
- Provides risk information to governance forums to ensure that delivery risks relating to Digital initiatives are visible within governance processes.
- Programme and Project Support: Provides guidance to programme and project teams on governance documentation and reporting requirements to support consistent governance processes across Digital initiatives.
- Collaborates with Programme Managers and Project Managers to collect delivery information required for assurance reviews and governance reporting.
- Maintains documentation relating to delivery plans, governance submissions and assurance outputs to support governance oversight of Digital initiatives.
- Data, Reporting and Insight: Produces governance dashboards and delivery reports using programme and project information to provide an overview of delivery progress and risks.
- Maintains reporting datasets relating to Digital projects, Digital programmes and Digital change initiatives to ensure delivery information is current and available for governance review.
- Evaluates delivery data from multiple sources to prepare reporting outputs used by governance forums.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaises with Digital Services teams, clinical stakeholders and operational managers to gather information relating to Digital initiatives and delivery progress.
- Collaborates with corporate governance and support functions to ensure reporting and governance processes align with organisational requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Reviews governance processes and reporting outputs relating to Digital initiatives to identify opportunities for improvement to governance procedures or reporting approaches.
- Maintains documentation relating to governance processes and assurance activities to support organisational learning and process improvement.
- Governance / Quality: Maintains governance records relating to Digital projects, Digital programmes and Digital change initiatives to support organisational oversight and compliance with governance processes.
- Processes delivery information relating to Digital initiatives to support governance review of delivery progress, risks and readiness.
