About this job

In this role you will work in a hybrid way, splitting your time between home and the office. We are looking for a Data Monetisation Specialist to join us and help unlock the value of Co-op Group data and support our growing data monetisation strategy.

You will work closely with our suppliers, agency partners, and colleagues across the Commercial team to spot opportunities, build confidence in our data products, and help us deliver against our revenue targets. This is a new and exciting area for Co-op following changes to our Commercial division, and there is huge opportunity to make a real impact.

Why this role matters

Our data is one of our most powerful assets. It helps suppliers understand our customers, build better products, and grow their businesses, which in turn helps us grow ours. In this role, you will help deliver our data revenue targets by engaging directly with suppliers, spotting opportunities for investment, and making sure they get the full value from our data products. You will collaborate with colleagues and agency partners to strengthen our proposition, gather insight from suppliers, and continuously improve how we support them.

What you will do

  • Actively identify opportunities within our supplier base to drive incremental investment into Co-op data products.
  • Co-create and own clear, engaging supplier-facing materials that bring our monetisable data products to life.
  • Support the conversion of revenue opportunities by engaging suppliers and demonstrating the collaborative benefits of investing in Co-op.
  • Work with newly onboarded suppliers to help them get the most from our data products.
  • Collaborate with our agency partners to identify risks to revenue and develop sustainable solutions to mitigate them.
  • Partner with data agencies and internal teams to develop training materials that support suppliers in fully using our data.
  • Gather feedback from suppliers to continuously enhance our data offerings.
  • Champion our data platforms within the Co-op Commercial team, sharing best practice and upskilling colleagues.
  • Act as an expert on data use across Co-op functions, helping colleagues understand how to maximise its value.
  • Maintain reporting to track progress towards our data revenue targets and share updates on a regular basis.

What you will bring

  • Financial acumen, with the ability to understand performance and identify actions that drive delivery.
  • Great communication skills, with the confidence to influence others and simplify complex concepts.
  • Strong relationship building skills with internal and external partners.
  • Good data literacy and an understanding of how to use data to create value.
  • An innovative mindset, and a self-motivated approach, with the initiative to generate opportunities and see them through.

Why Co-op?

At Co-op, we are owned by our members. And because we are owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you are not just taking a job, you are joining a movement. We are an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we are powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you will also receive:

  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance).
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays.
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions.
  • Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ).
  • Coaching and training to support your career development.
  • Wagestream app (giving you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn).
  • Building a diverse environment – we actively build diverse teams and we welcome applications from everyone.
