Responsibilities

  • Provide a high‑quality diagnostic and treatment service to patients with benign and malignant breast disease as part of the multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Deliver high quality breast surgery to patients, including modern oncoplastic and reconstructive techniques.
  • Participate in the National Breast Implant Registry and any other local, regional or national audits/registries and governance initiatives as advised by relevant national professional associations or MFT.
  • Partake in the Breast Unit non‑resident on‑call rota, 1 week in 14 (no General Surgery on call).
  • Recruit patients to relevant high‑quality clinical trials.
  • Provide GCP training if needed.
  • Offer high quality teaching and training to undergraduate medical students, postgraduate junior doctors, advanced clinical practitioners in training and other health professionals.
  • Engage with ongoing service improvements and innovations and be willing to take on extra professional responsibilities.
