About the School
Prospero Teaching are recruiting on behalf of a specialist secondary school in Gorton supporting pupils aged 11‑18 with complex needs, including autism, medical conditions, and learning disabilities.
Role Overview
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be part of a skilled and compassionate team that makes school a safe, structured and inspiring place for every learner.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and group support across a range of subjects and settings
- Help pupils with personal care, sensory regulation and communication needs
- Use visual aids, routines and consistent boundaries to support learning
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and families to meet EHCP targets
- Celebrate progress, however small, with patience and positivity
Qualifications
- Experience or interest in SEND education or care work
- Resilient, empathetic and confident in a dynamic environment
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Level 2/3 TA qualification or psychology/education background beneficial
Eligibility
To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate, registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child‑related references covering at least the last two years
