Cloud Security Engineer - £580 - £630 per day, Contract, initially 4 months, Inside IR35. Location: Manchester. Hybrid working: 3 days on site.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate cloud services to identify security risks and design robust controls across modern cloud environments (Azure, AWS or GCP).
  • Review and assess security risks across cloud platform services; design, develop, and implement cloud security controls.
  • Partner with infrastructure engineering teams to securely deliver cloud solutions.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for cloud security services and best practices.
  • Conduct threat modelling, security reviews, and security testing activities.
  • Support the adoption and optimization of CSPM/SSPM tooling and policy-as-code security controls.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience within enterprise cloud environments (Azure, AWS and/or GCP).
  • Hands-on knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation or Bicep.
  • Experience with CSPM/SSPM solutions, cloud security tooling, and cloud governance.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and modern cloud security architectures.
  • Experience with threat modelling, security testing, and cloud security standards.
  • Understanding of authentication, cryptography, networking, and enterprise security principles.
  • Familiarity with policy-as-code security tools such as Terraform Sentinel, Wiz or similar.
  • Desirable: Background within financial services or another regulated environment.
  • Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent industry experience.
