About this job

JOB ROLE: Children’s Activity Based Support Worker – based in Maer, ST5. You will need to hold a Full UK Driving Licence, as the role is based in a residential activity centre where you will reside overnight during your four working days to provide consistent support to young people.

SHIFT PATTERNS: 39 hours per week – 4 consecutive days on, 7 days off, followed by 3 consecutive days on, 7 days off. The role requires sleep‑ins during the 4‑day block.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build nurturing relationships with young people, providing emotional stability and daily care to support their thriving.
  • Lead adventurous outdoor activities such as rock climbing, mountain biking, and kayaking to foster confidence and essential life skills.
  • Support personal and social development through structured activities and day‑to‑day care routines.
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive team to create a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for the children.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must be over 21 years of age.
  • Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to work 39 hours per week, adhering to the shift pattern.
  • Experience or willingness to engage in the support and care of young people aged 8‑18 with social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
