Our Operational Support Officers play a critical role, providing excellent customer service and administrative support to court and tribunal users, judiciary and management. They support the smooth running of court proceedings and the overall operational standard of HM Courts & Tribunals Service.
Responsibilities
- Progress cases through the court/tribunal system and provide administrative support.
- Prepare papers and files for court, tribunals, hearings and meetings, handling sensitive information accurately.
- Create and update digital records, ensuring information is correctly entered and any required outcomes are recorded.
- Communicate with the public, judiciary, other court users and representatives from other agencies and organisations.
- Act as an essential first point of contact for court users, including vulnerable witnesses and their legal representatives.
- Prepare court/hearing rooms and ensure court proceedings run efficiently.

- Excellent digital and administrative skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Employment Details
Standard full‑time hours are 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Part‑time, flexible and job‑sharing arrangements may be considered in accordance with the MoJ’s Flexible Working policy.

This role is not eligible for new Skilled Worker visas. Existing visa holders may apply, subject to UK immigration rules.
