Looking for a practical, hands-on role with a well‑established and respected company? The Best Connection Swindon is currently recruiting for a Welder based in Malmesbury. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a skilled and supportive workshop team within a family run manufacturing business. Our client is based in the Swindon area and is easily accessible by public transport.

Hours and Pay: Monday to Friday, Day Shift - 8am - 4:30pm, 40 hours per week. Salary £13 per hour. Overtime available when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production & Workshop Duties: Carrying out workshop-based production tasks including tapping, bushing, drilling, pressing, finishing, and MIG/TIG welding (training provided where required).
  • Machinery & Tools: Using workshop equipment, machinery, and hand‑finishing tools safely and effectively.
  • Quality Control: Ensuring all work completed meets company quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Production Paperwork & Scanning: Completing production paperwork accurately and logging processes using MRP barcode scanners to support production planning. Reading diagrams.
  • Communication: Reporting any operational or quality concerns to Production Supervisors and Quality Assurance teams.
  • Health & Safety: Following all health and safety procedures and wearing the correct PPE whilst maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Requirements and Skills

  • Previous workshop or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience using hand tools and workshop equipment.
  • MIG/TIG welding experience beneficial but not essential.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, hardworking, and quality‑focused attitude.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
