About this job

Domestic Assistants support the Trust in delivering a clean and safe environment for both service users and staff. Successful candidates will receive full training and a uniform will be provided. This vacancy is full time. The Trust supports the Real Living Wage hourly rate as set by the Living Wage Federation and will apply a pay supplement if the national A4C hourly rate falls below this. You will be required to work as part of a team and be flexible within your working approach, e.g. covering for annual leave and sickness.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning all areas in accordance with NPSA national standards of cleanliness, following the approved CWP cleaning schedule and adjusting work routine if required for the needs of the ward/department.
  • Cleaning all areas in accordance with C.O.S.H.H. regulations.
  • Collecting daily rubbish and taking it to the designated area.
  • Washing up mealtime dishes for patients.
  • Keeping all equipment used in connection with duties in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Reporting faults on equipment to the domestic supervisor.
  • Providing details of any untoward incident to administrative/senior nursing staff.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a domestic environment would be advantageous; if not, training will be provided.
