Role Summary

Lecturer in English – responsible for delivering effective teaching, learning and assessment to learners within the English curriculum area.

Responsibilities

  • Plan teaching, learning and assessment for college programmes using the appropriate college format to ensure effective learning.
  • Thoroughly prepare suitable teaching, learning and assessment materials for a range of courses/classes and employ a variety of appropriate learning and teaching methods.
  • Provide an up‑to‑date syllabus and scheme of work (showing methods of delivery and embedded cross‑cutting themes) for each course/class taught.
  • Assess accurately learners, working both formatively and summatively against appropriate awarding body criteria to ensure learners achieve their qualifications.
  • Comply with all college quality assurance procedures as prescribed by the Centre Principal & Quality to ensure the achievement of all internal and external audits.
