Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for people queries and casework management through the employee life cycle by providing advice and coaching to managers, ensuring legislation, process and policy is followed.
  • Supporting with conducting investigations and advise line through investigation, disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Advise line managers on probationary review and performance management processes.
  • Assist managers in effective and supportive management of short term and long-term absences.
  • Act as a wellbeing champion and a key point of HR contact in the respective region for mental health and wellbeing support.
  • Deliver training modules for existing and new managers.
  • Support Leadership and HR Business Partners on all HR and Business lead projects engaging stakeholders to achieve People Strategy objectives.
  • Working with the recruitment team in actioning recruitment and on‑boarding processes to ensure settings are operating at required ratios, attracting, managing talent and succession planning for enhanced staff development and business results.
  • Maintain HR systems, employee records and data for effective reporting across the designated region.
  • Research and develop a resource hub of relevant training, guidance, manuals for both employees and managers.
  • Support HR Business Partners with TUPE activities.
  • Support the wider HR team with the administration of the monthly payroll process and employee payroll queries.
  • Update systems and maintain personal records for all staff and casework.
  • Drafting invite letters, outcome letters, minute taking, filing, managing inboxes, setting up meetings.

What a People (HR) Advisor Needs

  • Essential: A minimum of 3 years HR generalist experience.
  • Essential: Collaborative and engaging approach and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Essential: Experience of producing accurate employment documentation and correspondence.
  • Essential: Ability to work appropriately with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Essential: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desirable: CIPD qualification Minimum Level 5.
  • Desirable: Employment Law knowledge.
  • Desirable: Demonstrates wider business understanding of Children’s Day care settings or similar sector knowledge.
