We are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and flexible Supply SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team at a specialist SEN school focusing on SEMH. This vital role involves providing temporary, short-term, and potentially longer-term cover across various classes and age groups, supporting pupils with complex needs to access their education and thrive both academically and socially.
The Role
- Provide high-quality, flexible support to the class teacher and pupils.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of tailored learning activities.
- Implement strategies and interventions designed to manage challenging behaviour and promote positive emotional regulation.
- Support pupils' social development and communication skills.
- Assist with personal care where necessary (training provided).
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
What We Are Looking For
- Experienced in supporting pupils with SEMH needs (essential).
- Resilient, calm, and able to de‐escalate challenging situations effectively.
- Adaptable and willing to work with different age groups and classes at short notice.
- Patient, nurturing, and committed to inclusive education.
- Able to demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Hold relevant qualifications or demonstrable experience in an SEN setting.
