An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Police Youth Prevention Officer based in the Local Authority Youth Justice Service.

Please note: we are advertising this role in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Powys. Please ensure you submit an application against the correct location you wish to be considered for.

What you will be doing?

  • To support the work of Dyfed-Powys Police in collaboration with the Youth Justice Service in the prevention of offending and anti-social behaviour and to provide high quality interventions to children aged between 10-17 who are on the cusp of offending.
  • To screen children using police systems and youth justice management information systems to analyse the factors that place a child on the cusp of offending.
  • To conduct assessments and then develop informative intervention plans, delivering direct interventions to children and young people as identified.
  • To provide support to the parents/carers of children and young people who are in receipt of interventions.
