We are currently recruiting compassionate and reliable Healthcare Support Workers / Care Assistants to work across nursing and residential care settings in Porthcawl. This role provides the opportunity to deliver high‐quality, person‐centred care, supporting individuals' daily living needs while promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing. Working under the guidance of registered healthcare professionals and in line with NHS Wales standards, you will play a vital role in delivering safe and effective care.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, continence care, feeding, and mobility support
- Support service users with social activities and emotional wellbeing, promoting independence wherever possible
- Monitor, record and report vital signs and any changes in condition
- Assist with medication administration where appropriately trained and authorised
- Contribute to care planning, risk assessments and ongoing reviews
- Maintain accurate and timely care documentation
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times
- Support safe moving and handling, including the use of appropriate equipment
- Work collaboratively with nurses, senior carers, families and multidisciplinary teams
- Safeguard vulnerable adults and maintain confidentiality in line with policy
Qualifications and Requirements
- Qualified to NVQ Level 2 (or working towards Level 3) or equivalent experience
- At least 6 months UK‐based care experience within the last 3 years
- Compassionate, patient and committed to delivering high standards of care
- Strong communication skills and effective team player
- Ability to follow policies, procedures and care plans accurately
- Committed to dignity, respect and person‐centred care
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- Enhanced DBS (on Update Service or willingness to obtain at own cost)
- Registration (or willingness to register) with Social Care Wales
- Full UK driving licence and reliable travel to shifts (vehicle desirable)
- Willingness to complete mandatory training and refreshers where required (own cost where applicable)
- Satisfactory references and DBS clearance
