We’re seeking a Head of Counters Operations to shape the future of our Counters business. National role with locations in East Anglia, Bradford, Birmingham and London. Full-time, permanent.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver the P&L, manage costs and margins and develop a 3yr Counters strategy.
- Lead commercial relationships with customers, retailers and key suppliers, including contract negotiations and sales growth.
- Oversee operational standards, implementing an audit framework and ensuring full Food Safety compliance.
- Ensure effective resourcing and compliance with employment legislation, developing teams to deliver excellent service and product quality, and providing support on all operational and people matters.
Operations context
The Counters business employs c.110 people and generates c. £330k weekly turnover.
Ideal Candidate
- Industry relevant experience in Food production (meat/poultry) and/or Food Retail, with a proven track record of commercial growth, operational improvement, and compliant operations alongside strong knowledge of Food Safety legislation.
- A structured, resilient people leader, confident handling HR matters, able to influence stakeholders at all levels and comfortable working independently.
- Likely operating at a Head of Operations level, with multi-site experience and strong commercial awareness.
- Butchery experience and knowledge of Halal categories and market dynamics would be beneficial.
