Prince are supporting a longstanding client and established business in Telford who are looking for a skilled Design Engineer to join their friendly team. As the Design Engineer, you will be designing a variety of bespoke products. You will be involved with cradle to grave design, producing designs for approval, managing multiple ongoing projects and prioritising design workload. This is a nice role for someone where you can work independently and within a small team and take ownership of projects allocated to you, from initial concept through to manufacture.
The Design Engineer will be responsible for:
- Taking ownership of projects from cradle to grave
- Working on both bespoke and standardised design projects
- Managing multiple projects and prioritising workload
- Liaising with internal sales teams and clients directly on specifications when required
- Conducting various tests from stress analysis and assembly tolerances
Skills and Experience:
- Experience with sheet metal will be essential
- Experience of Solidworks and AutoCAD will be essential
- Mechanical Engineering degree or relevant qualifications will be beneficial but not essential
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
This role would suit a candidate with previous experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer / Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer / Product Design Engineer / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.
