Responsibilities

  • Provide advice, guidance and recommendations on the implementation of security policies and procedures across the trust.
  • Maintain and enhance the security and safety of service users, staff and visitors, including oversight of operational implementation of policies and procedures such as CCTV.
  • Report to the Board, Executive team and Health and Safety Sub‑Committee on security risks, ensuring they are managed according to statutory requirements and NHS guidance; raise and elevate risks that require Executive oversight.
  • Lead the trust on the delivery and statutory requirements of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025.
  • Plan and develop training and education initiatives to provide appropriate specialised security training to all stakeholders.
