4 Hours per week, £13.45 per hour, Llanelly. A Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) / criminal record check will be required for this role; it will be completed upon acceptance of the offer.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing for the personal care needs of the employer, such as washing and toileting.
  • Supporting the employer with encouragement in gaining independence.
  • Enabling the employer to interact socially in their community.
  • Providing support to the employer whilst shopping and attending activities of interest.
  • Supporting the employer to develop independent living skills.
  • Providing companionship in the employer’s home, including engaging in conversation and providing them with social interaction.
  • Encouraging the employer to attend appointments.
  • Ensuring the employer’s safety at all times during working hours.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable tasks requested by the employer during working hours.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act.
  • Being mindful of safeguarding issues and reporting any concerns to Carmarthenshire County Council immediately at 01267 228751.
  • Being responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should the employer need medical assistance.

Relationships: Communication / Nature of Contacts

  • Ability to develop a supportive and caring relationship with the employer.
  • Undertake all duties in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Ability to contact people on behalf of the employer when necessary.

Job working environment:

Working in the employer’s home and supporting them to access facilities and community activities.
