About you
- Significant experience of biodiversity matters relevant to planning.
- Degree or equivalent in biodiversity, ecology or a related subject.
- Commitment to delivering a high quality of customer care.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team.
What you will do
- Provide professional advice on biodiversity assisting in the fulfilment of Powys County Council’s legal obligations relating to biodiversity.
- Take the lead on specific planning policy topic areas relating to biodiversity matters. This is to include:
- Undertaking research and evidence gathering.
- Analysis of findings.
- Policy drafting.
- Appraisal and assessment of policies.
- Provide professional advice / training on biodiversity matters to Planning Officers, Planning Agents / Applicants, Councillors and the Planning, Taxi Licensing and Rights of Way Committee.
- Undertake when appropriate, EIA screening and give EIA scoping opinions formally on behalf of the authority.
- Undertake biodiversity assessments relevant to the planning process, including HRA assessments.
There is no DBS Check requirement for this position.
