To undertake administration tasks to maintain accurate member data and calculate and pay pension benefits for a specific category of membership. Work as part of a team to provide efficient and effective pensions administration service to members, employers and third‑party agencies, ensuring excellent customer service in every interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain member record, recording and notifying relevant departments of changes to members' personal details, to verify data and enable pension benefit calculation.
- Calculate and pay refunds of pension contributions for Local Government Pension Scheme members and perform benefit calculations for Career Average Revalued Earnings scheme member benefits.
- Process new entrants into the pension scheme, including checking the NI database and corresponding with previous pension providers to investigate aggregation of previous LGPS benefits and/or transfer of other pension rights.
- Assist with control and monitoring of secure access by authorised scheme members to 'My Powys Pension' self‑service and support system officers with self‑service housekeeping.
- Maintain working knowledge of relevant Pension Scheme Regulations, procedures and other statutory arrangements and keep them up to date.
Require a Standard DBS Check.
Qualifications
- Experience of IT packages e.g. MS Office, MS365 with strong IT skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding and awareness of quality assurance skills.
- Basic working knowledge of LGPS and TPS regulations.
- 5 GCSEs including Maths and English Language or equivalent.
- Ability to work well in a team as well as using own initiative.
