Calderstones School is a large, richly diverse 11–18 mixed comprehensive serving South Liverpool, with 1,600 students on roll including 227 in our Sixth Form. We are seeking a talented, passionate Teacher of Mathematics to join our forward‑thinking department from September 2026. Teaching Mathematics at KS3 and KS4 is essential; KS5 including Further Mathematics is desirable. Applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly welcomed.
Main Duties
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, well‑differentiated Mathematics lessons across the age and ability range.
- Assess, track and report on student progress, using data to inform teaching and raise attainment.
- Contribute to schemes of work, resources and the Department Development Plan.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
- Act as Wellbeing Tutor to an assigned group where appropriate.
- Contribute to extra‑curricular activities and whole‑school events including Open and Parents' Evenings.
- Engage actively in Performance Management and ongoing professional development.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status and a good degree in a relevant subject.
- Successful teaching experience at KS3 and KS4; KS5 including Further Mathematics desirable.
- Secure knowledge of effective learning, teaching and assessment in Mathematics.
- Proven track record in improving results and securing ambitious pupil progress.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
- Energy, drive, enthusiasm and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
