The predicted salary is between 28392 - 31157 £ per year.

The post holder will be an integral part of the Urology Cancer Admin Team, who assists, supports and co‑ordinates the pathway for prostate cancer patients who have completed primary treatment. A large part of the role is to assist patients to transfer onto a supported self‑management programme to reduce the number of visits to hospital.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative and coordinated support to patients, families, consultants, cancer nurse specialists and other staff involved in the prostate cancer pathway.
  • Co‑ordinating or acting independently to make OPD appointments for abnormal results and fast‑tracking patients into the system if required.
  • Maintaining and updating the system with all patient interactions, ensuring reminder letters for repeat tests are sent in a timely manner.
  • Administering fail‑safe processes so that patients’ results are registered accurately and appropriate action is taken.
  • Co‑ordinating patient Health MOT information and responding to areas of concern highlighted by patients.
  • Registering patients onto relevant databases, ensuring all clinical and personal data are electronically and accurately recorded.
  • Being the point of contact for all enquiries relating to the supported self‑management system for prostate patients.
  • Developing knowledge and skills to transfer patients onto the system, ensuring they fully understand its workings and benefits.
  • Facilitating communication and information flows, initiating and responding to correspondence and emails, and resolving enquiries.
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with clinicians, managers and others within the department and across the Trust.
  • Maintaining an accurate database/portal of patients, tracking interval investigations and monitoring incoming health status information from patients using the system.
  • Assisting ANPs in coordinating care by tracking patient pathways and providing a point of access, including rapid re‑entry into the system for those identified as having urgent or specialist needs.
  • Triage incoming calls using a risk assessment framework and initiating appropriate responses according to protocols and individual pathways.
  • Providing basic telephone advice and referring or sign‑posting to other resources of support.
  • Demonstrating excellent IT, counselling, and persuasive skills.
