A position has arisen for an experienced, well‑motivated and enthusiastic support secretary to join our Urology Department. The post requires resilience, adaptability and the ability to work in a fast‑paced professional environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day‑to‑day support to the PA/Medical Secretary team.
- Update patient information and manage spreadsheets.
- Book, reschedule and cancel appointments and clinics; monitor clinic capacity.
- Handle correspondence with patients, consultants, nurses and other health professionals.
- Produce accurate correspondence in a timely manner, typing from audio dictation.
- Support 18-week Referral to Treatment pathways, including tertiary referrals to external trusts and ensure accurate recording on the Patient Administration System (PAS).
- Check follow‑up appointments, investigations and clinical letters for appropriate arrangements.
- Liaise with the personal medical secretary of specialties and handle enquiries on the telephone or face‑to‑face.
