Staff Nurse Aintree site Ward 31 Trauma & Orthopaedics Band 5 Permanent 37.5 Hours per week Night and Days rotation; Admission and discharge of patients both short and long stay patients; Pre and post operative care; Working closely with MDT team; Supporting students nurses in the workplace.

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Participate in maintaining a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for all patients and carers and maintain agreed standards of nursing care.
  • Determines nursing priorities and plans patient care.
  • Informs the nurse in charge when changes in circumstances may affect patient care.
  • Maintain nursing records in accordance with the NMC and Trust Guidelines.
  • Maintain and improve quality of patient care through contribution to the development of Essence of Care and clinical benchmarking within the unit.
  • Ensure due regard is given to customs, values and spiritual beliefs of patients.
  • Providing information and support to patients/carers.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Admission and complex discharge of patients both short and long stay patients.
  • Pre and post operative care.
  • Working closely with MDT team.
  • Supporting students nurses in the workplace.
  • Applicants must possess excellent communication skills, have a flexible working approach and a willingness to work as part of a forward thinking team, as well as a strong commitment to ensuring a positive hospital experience for patients and their relatives/carers.
