Senior Theatre Practitioner – Scrub (Band 6). The role is for a HCPC/NMC registered ODP/RN with scrub experience who will join the theatre team to support peri‑operative care across Liverpool University Hospitals. The successful candidate will work within theatres as a scrub practitioner and may rotate across disciplines supported by the theatre team. The post holder will act as a role model, demonstrating effective organisational, clinical and leadership skills, and will participate in the Directorate internal rotation programme where required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform anaesthetic, scrub and recovery duties to meet service delivery requirements.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate record keeping.
- Provide support and knowledge to patients within the speciality.
- Act as a member of the multidisciplinary team and work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, empathy and professionalism when dealing with patients, families and staff.
- Maintain awareness of HCPC/NMC code of conduct, Trust policies, procedures and guidelines, and undertake ongoing professional development via a personal portfolio.
- Adhere to the Trust and departmental dress code policy and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously.
- Compile and maintain accurate records in compliance with H.P.C./N.M.C. standards and Caldicott principles.
Requirements:
- HCPC/NMC registration as an ODP or RN.
- Scrub experience within a theatre setting.
- Good IT skills for record keeping.
- Professional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
