The Role

  • Leadership: Leading shifts, allocating tasks, and ensuring safe staffing levels.
  • Safeguarding: Promoting best practices and ensuring children are protected from harm in line with statutory guidance.
  • Care & Support: Providing nurturing care that promotes emotional well-being, independence, and social development.
  • Key Working: Developing positive relationships with allocated children and contributing to placement planning.
  • Collaboration: Working with social workers, health professionals, and education providers to ensure positive outcomes.

What You'll Need

  • Qualification: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Essential).
  • Experience: Proven experience working with children and young people.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills with a solid knowledge of safeguarding.
  • Licence: A full UK Driving License.
  • Knowledge: An understanding of trauma-informed care and Ofsted regulatory frameworks is highly desirable.

Package & Shift Pattern

  • Salary: Competitive and Negotiable (Base starting at £14.50 PH + £60 per sleep‑in).
  • Hours: Shift work including evenings, weekends, and sleep‑ins as required.
