We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school community in South Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and contributing positively to their learning and development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties
  • Support the class teacher in delivering tailored and accessible learning activities
  • Assist with pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Implement and support Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role
  • Strong understanding of a range of special educational needs
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt learning approaches to meet individual needs
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

Overseas police checks may be required where applicable.
