Overview

We are seeking an experienced SEN English Teacher to join a brand new supportive independent school. You’ll lead lessons, manage behaviour, and support pupils of all abilities, helping them thrive in a positive, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons for Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils.
  • Maintain a calm, structured, inclusive classroom that promotes learning and positive behaviour.
  • Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development across the school day.
  • Adapt quickly to new settings following school routines and individual support plans.
  • Assess progress and provide feedback, collaborating with colleagues to support learning.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching in UK schools.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and confident working across year groups/subjects.
  • Enhanced DBS (on Update Service) required prior to starting.
