We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Plumber to join our Planned Projects team at HMS, part of Torus Group, covering the North West. You’ll be working across occupied and void properties, delivering high-quality plumbing works while providing an excellent service to our customers.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Carry out all aspects of plumbing work, both internal and external, including new installations, maintenance and remedial works.
  • Undertake associated trade tasks such as basic plastering, tiling and joinery to support efficient service delivery.
  • Plan and organise work effectively to meet priority response times and performance targets.
  • Work within scheduled appointment systems, liaising with customers and colleagues.
  • Diagnose faults, carry out pre-measuring and determine repair requirements in line with contractual guidelines.
  • Supervise and support apprentices or trainees when required.
  • Use mobile and IT systems to receive instructions, complete work orders and order materials.
  • Ensure accurate completion of all documentation and system updates.
  • Drive and maintain a company vehicle, stock and equipment responsibly.
  • Manage materials efficiently, minimising waste and delays.
  • Comply fully with Health & Safety requirements and safe systems of work.
  • Participate in training, development and competency programmes.
  • Work collaboratively with schedulers, planners, customer liaison officers and contractors.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours rota when required (additional payment applies).

What We Are Looking For

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plumbing or a relevant craft discipline.
  • Valid CSCS card at the appropriate level.
  • Full UK or EU driving licence.
  • Completed, time-served apprenticeship.
  • Proven experience in plumbing, building maintenance and construction.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

Interview Process

Candidates will be invited to in-person interviews at our Sutton Fold office, which will include a competency-based interview. Interviews will take place week commencing 18th May 2026.
