We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Plumber to join our Planned Projects team at HMS, part of Torus Group, covering the North West. You’ll be working across occupied and void properties, delivering high-quality plumbing works while providing an excellent service to our customers.
What You Will Be Doing
- Carry out all aspects of plumbing work, both internal and external, including new installations, maintenance and remedial works.
- Undertake associated trade tasks such as basic plastering, tiling and joinery to support efficient service delivery.
- Plan and organise work effectively to meet priority response times and performance targets.
- Work within scheduled appointment systems, liaising with customers and colleagues.
- Diagnose faults, carry out pre-measuring and determine repair requirements in line with contractual guidelines.
- Supervise and support apprentices or trainees when required.
- Use mobile and IT systems to receive instructions, complete work orders and order materials.
- Ensure accurate completion of all documentation and system updates.
- Drive and maintain a company vehicle, stock and equipment responsibly.
- Manage materials efficiently, minimising waste and delays.
- Comply fully with Health & Safety requirements and safe systems of work.
- Participate in training, development and competency programmes.
- Work collaboratively with schedulers, planners, customer liaison officers and contractors.
- Participate in an out-of-hours rota when required (additional payment applies).
What We Are Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plumbing or a relevant craft discipline.
- Valid CSCS card at the appropriate level.
- Full UK or EU driving licence.
- Completed, time-served apprenticeship.
- Proven experience in plumbing, building maintenance and construction.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
Interview Process
Candidates will be invited to in-person interviews at our Sutton Fold office, which will include a competency-based interview. Interviews will take place week commencing 18th May 2026.

Each successful applicant will be required to complete the following pre-employment checks prior to a start date being agreed:
