We are looking for an experienced Medical Secretary to join the Dermatology Team at Broadgreen Hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Diary management and scheduling of appointments for consultants and speciality teams.
  • Transcribe letters and other clinical correspondence from audio, and type discharge summaries.
  • Manage the creation, modification and cancellation of clinic templates on behalf of clinicians.
  • Relay messages and respond to queries via telephone and email, liaising with patients, GPs and other trusts.
  • Maintain 18‑week pathways and tertiary referrals, ensuring accurate documentation in the PAS system and coordination with the Referral to Treat (RTT) pathway.
  • Operate a bring‑forward system and filing system, and keep clinic lists updated.
  • Support consultants in non‑clinical activities: prepare presentation documents, arrange meetings, set agendas, circulate agenda items or supporting papers, and take minutes.
  • Keep consultants informed of annual, study and junior doctor leave that may affect service provision.
  • Organise and maintain consultant admissions, cancel or add patients to waiting lists, liaise with the waiting‑list office, anaesthetic department and ward, and amend theatre lists as required.
  • Cover absences of colleagues and work as a team player within the wider team.
