Responsibilities
- Accountable for the clinical operation and quality of the service in the Endoscopy department.
- Provide clinical leadership to ensure high quality endoscopy practice, nursing care and compliance with JAG accreditation.
- Hold budgetary responsibility for the area, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Participate in the clinical manager on-call rota, developing as a senior nurse within the wider hospital.
- Support the senior leadership team to achieve optimum quality of care and clinical excellence, working collaboratively with staff, patients and carers.
- Provide strong clinical leadership on quality of care and environment cleanliness.
- Model a quality-driven, caring, and compassionate leadership style, upholding nursing profession standards.
- Manage operational plans and performance, leading and resolving difficult operational issues.
- Implement patient-centred clinical and nursing operational strategy, ensuring compliance with legislation and governance.
- Contribute to strategic direction and policy setting for the Division, communicating key messages and encouraging staff engagement.
Qualifications
- Senior nurse with a professional, motivated approach and experience leading a large team.
- Experience in Endoscopy desirable; commitment to endoscopy service development required.
- Experience leading a team in a theatre, day-case, ambulatory or procedural setting beneficial.
- Knowledge of JAG accreditation process.
- Ability to manage budgets and ensure efficiency.
- Strong communication and coaching leadership skills.
