You will assist in delivering high quality patient care in the Emergency Department. The role involves patient support, direct care, venepuncture, clerical duties and shift work.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and support to doctors and nursing staff.
- Perform venepuncture and cannulation and maintain fluid intake/output charts.
- Assist with routine clerical tasks such as notes preparation, stock ordering and equipment decontamination.
- Support patient hygiene, catheter care and escort patients to other Trust departments.
- Co‑ordinate dietary requirements with catering team.
- Promote and support infection control and safe patient storage.
- Act as a chaperone in accordance with Trust policies.
- Assist in ward inductions and develop junior staff where required.
- Maintain accurate and secure patient records and confidentiality.
Qualifications & Skills
- NHS Foundation Trust registration or equivalent nursing qualification preferred.
- Evidence of venepuncture competency.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including long days and nights.
