Act as a Band 3 Health Care Assistant in the Knowsley Community Sexual Health Service, supporting the multidisciplinary team in delivering Integrated Sexual Health and Contraception services.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide patient care and support, demonstrating professionalism and adhering to competencies.
- Conduct venepuncture and assist with diagnostic procedures.
- Obtain baseline observations and administer routine clinical assessments.
- Conduct STI screening for asymptomatic patients and refer accordingly.
- Manage computer systems and ordering of stock, ensuring timely replenishment.
- Perform clinical and administrative duties, including paperwork, stocking, and patient data entry.
- Adapt to a fast‑paced environment with flexible early and evening shifts across multiple sites.
- Commit to a structured induction programme and ongoing training and support from senior staff.
Qualifications & experience:
- Band 3 HCA with an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or a National Care Certificate, or willingness to attain this qualification.
- Excellent IT and computer skills, with the ability to learn quickly.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience or willingness to perform venepuncture.
- Previous experience in a sexual health or contraception service is desirable but not essential.
- Flexibility to travel between sites and cover a range of shift patterns.
