We're looking for an Electrical Supervisor who will lead the delivery of electrical maintenance services within a complex estates environment.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of electrical maintenance services within a complex estates environment, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of planned and reactive electrical works across the site.
- Provide strong day‑to‑day leadership to the electrical team, ensuring statutory compliance, high technical standards, and excellent service delivery in a critical operational setting.
Operational & Technical Leadership
- Deliver and implement all aspects of planned and reactive electrical maintenance in line with contract requirements and KPIs.
- Provide technical and operational guidance to the electrical on‑site team, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant work standards.
- Champion a Right First Time approach through effective fault investigation and root‑cause analysis.
- Deputise for the Electrical Manager when required.
Work Planning & Compliance
- Ensure statutory, PPM, and corrective maintenance tasks are delivered to required standards and within agreed timeframes.
- Coordinate specialist subcontractors and ensure activities are delivered competently and safely.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, HTM requirements, and best practice guidance.
- Attend daily operational team meetings providing detailed updates on electrical works.
Team Management
- Lead, motivate, and develop the electrical team, managing conduct, performance, capability, and attendance.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, development, and performance management processes.
- Promote effective decision‑making and empowerment within the team.
Stakeholder & Cross‑Department Liaison
- Work collaboratively with estates colleagues, clinical staff, and external partners to maintain high service levels.
- Support other departments and undertake additional duties as required by the Electrical Manager or Estates leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within electrical maintenance.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Experience managing subcontractors and specialist services.
- Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation / Maintenance.
- City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification.
- IOSH Managing Safely (or willingness to obtain).
- CAFM systems operations.
Desirable
- Experience in healthcare, PFI, or other complex estates environments.
- Competent Person and/or Authorised Person accreditation for electrical systems.
- Experience working to HTM 06‑01 / 06‑02 / 06‑03 standards.

SARC DNA Requirement – Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) DNA Sample Requirement. This role may require regular entry to high‑risk or forensically clean areas of the SARC at Rainbow. As part of our commitment to supporting Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust to maintain the highest forensic standards and comply with UKAS accreditation requirements, the successful candidate will be required to provide a DNA sample to be held on the Staff Elimination Database. This requirement is solely for the purpose of eliminating your DNA from any forensic samples that may be taken at the SARC.
