Join our dynamic and forward‑thinking team at HMS as an Apprentice Scheduler, where you will gain practical experience and develop valuable skills, working towards an NVQ Level 3 qualification. This is an 18‑month apprenticeship. Successful candidates will be expected to travel to their assigned college or workplace as required.

Responsibilities

  • Learn all aspects of the Scheduling role and complete tasks accurately and on time
  • Support customer experience and contribute to business goals
  • Develop strong communication skills by working with colleagues and customers
  • Handle queries professionally by phone, email, and face‑to‑face
  • Help plan and organise work using systems and company priorities
  • Use IT tools to receive instructions, update records, and manage work orders
  • Complete documentation and input information accurately
  • Take part in training, development, and the company’s competency programme
  • Attend college and complete all required apprenticeship assessments
  • Join regular reviews with your mentor to track progress
  • Support the team with other duties as needed
  • Stay flexible and positive in a fast‑paced environment
  • Develop the skills, knowledge, and competence required to independently carry out all core tasks associated with the role by the end of the apprenticeship programme

Qualifications

  • 4–5 GCSEs at grades 9–4 (A–C) including English Language (Grade 4/C or above) and Maths (Grade 4/C or above), or GCSE English Language (Grade 4/C or above) plus Functional Skills Level 2 Maths (or equivalent accepted by providers).
  • For mature applicants (19+ / 21+), GCSE requirements may be waived where relevant construction experience and/or site supervisory responsibilities can be demonstrated, with suitability assessed via skills assessment and/or professional discussion, and Functional Skills English and/or Maths may still be required depending on individual circumstances.
  • A strong work ethic and enthusiasm for learning
  • Commitment to academic learning, including attending college
  • Excellent time management and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Good IT skills and the ability to use communication tools effectively
  • A customer‑focused attitude and the ability to work well in a team

Assessment Day

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an assessment day to further evaluate their skills and suitability for the apprenticeship. Assessment day will take place on 30th June 2026 at Hybrid HQ.

Training Plan

You will receive both on‑the‑job and off‑the‑job training over the course of 18 months, following a detailed induction and training plan. You will attend college on a day‑release basis. Upon successful completion, you will earn the Level 3 Business Administration Qualification.

Apprenticeship Locations

You will work across our three main vibrant heartlands – Liverpool, Warrington, and St Helens and surrounding areas, where you’ll rotate through a variety of dynamic workstreams, gaining hands‑on experience and building a broad foundation of knowledge along the way.
