Responsibilities
- Assist senior respiratory physiologists with Spirometry, Reversibility, Lung volumes and TLCO.
- Provide assistance for CPET both diagnostic and pre‑op.
- Run independent spirometry clinics at local health centres.
- Perform full studies unsupervised within the main respiratory lab at Aintree Site.
- Perform spirometry at various locations around North Merseyside.
- Support clinical physiology service provision, including direct duties and supervised activities.
- Assist in setup and exercise testing within CPET area.
- Perform reversibility testing unsupervised and use lab sterilisation and cleaning SOPs.
- Assist with ordering, stock control and receipt of consumable items used in clinical physiology.
- Recognise and report equipment faults and ensure resolution.
- Assist with local risk management policies and maintenance of appropriate standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Completed or currently undertaking the associate practitioner course or foundation degree in health‑care science.
- Registered with ARTP as an approved spirometry practitioner.
- Actively attending university as required to become an AHCS registered associate practitioner.
- Understands CVIS/IPM/Ascent and other respiratory information systems.
- Ability to work independently in direct patient care within department and national guidelines.
