We are looking for a dynamic nurse who can work under pressure and deliver world‑class care to patients. The successful candidate will work on the Gastroenterology wards, gain new skills, work closely with Consultants, and complete the Nurse Prescribing course.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve the experience and outcomes of care for patients by taking the lead in investigations and treatments prescribed.
- Provide a consistent and personalised service by ensuring patients receive the best care in the best place from the best person or team.
- Provide social, emotional, and psychological support for patients from referral and throughout their treatment.
- Deliver expert specialist evidence‑based care, including development, assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes of evidence‑based nursing care for a defined caseload.
- Make appropriate referrals to Consultants and other specialist members of the multidisciplinary team in primary, secondary, or tertiary care settings.
- Be aware of risk‑management issues locally and nationally, and develop strategies to address identified issues.
- Manage the admission process for patients attending day case.
- Meet objectives set out by the Gastroenterology Care group.
- Audit and research the effective use of physical and financial resources.
- Specialist assessment of patients' needs, planning, implementing, and evaluating care delivery using advanced knowledge and clinical skills.
- Communicate effectively.
