Salary: £29,600 plus additional £50 per sleep in (approx. 10 per month)
Shift pattern: Full‑time 40 hours per week on average. Includes days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays, sleep‑ins, and lone working. 2 on 4 off shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Registered Manager and Assistant Manager in the day‑to‑day operation of the settled care home and provide cover at other homes if required.
- Ensure the physical, emotional and other needs of children/young people are met within a supportive, homely, professional and caring environment.
- Work within Government guidance, Ofsted regulations, local authority guidance and the Association’s policies and procedures to meet Quality Standards and achieve good outcomes for the young people.
- Achieve and maintain an Ofsted rating of Good or Outstanding for the home.
- Support the development of an organisational culture that places core values at the centre of all activities.
- Assist the Manager and/or Deputy Manager in home management tasks such as allocation of duties, recruitment, staff deployment, day‑to‑day supervision, and performance management.
- Experience working with young people aged 11–18 in a residential social care setting.
- At least a Level 3 children’s social care/youth‑related qualification and a willingness to undertake further training and development.
- Experience dealing with stressful, difficult, and challenging situations appropriately and supporting staff in such situations.
- Knowledge of relevant child‑care legislation, government guidance, and best practice.
- Experience working effectively in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of child safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Understanding of strategies for managing challenging behaviour, including de‑escalation procedures.
