Location: Leyland, Lancashire
Hours: 2pm - 10pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: £15.50 per hour (PAYE) holiday pay accrual on all hours worked. Pay of £16.00 per hour after hours worked beyond 6pm (0.50p shift allowance)
Term: 12-week temp to perm role
FLT Counterbalance desirable but not essential as internal refresher can be offered on site for suitable applicants.
Responsibilities:
- Driving a Class 2 vehicle to deliver products safely and on time to locations
- Driving between 5 to 10 miles from site, typically between business-owned premises, shunting stock and finished products between required locations.
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and completing delivery paperwork accurately.
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety and road transport legislation.
- Assisting with loading / unloading where required (FLT licence preferred)
- Providing excellent customer service and representing the business professionally on deliveries.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence with valid Class 1 or 2 (Category C) entitlement.
- Current CPC card and digital tachograph card.
- No more than 6 penalty points on licence (for insurance purposes).
- Previous Class 1 or 2 driving experience.
- Good knowledge of UK road networks.
- Strong confidence and excellent spatial awareness essential for manoeuvring vehicles in confined areas and between sites.
- Reliability and punctuality are vital given the short-term nature of this cover.
