Your new company Desian Education are proud to be supporting a two-form entry primary school in Salford that is easily accessible via public transport as they require an experienced and reliable teaching assistant to support a pupil in a year 2 class on a 1:1 basis. This is a full-time temporary contract that subject to funding will be extending into the new academic year.
Your new role As a teaching assistant within this school you will play an integral part in the education and development of a new pupil within the year 2 class. The pupil you will be supporting has high functioning ASD and PDA. They are an extremely loving individual that is able to access the curriculum but due to their needs they are disengaged and falling behind. You will act as their main point of contact throughout the day, meeting them at the school gate and walking them back to their grown-up at the end of the day. As they have PDA they spend half of their time outside of the class. You will use a pupil lead curriculum deliver model as to promote their engagement and learning which will in turn aid in integration into the main classroom.
What you need to succeed:
- Full “Right to Work” in the UK
- Good knowledge of the KS1 national curriculum
- Be at least NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualified
- A minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years
- Have an Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
