A vacancy at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and supportive outpatient Pelvic Health Physiotherapy service. A part‑time post is available at Leigh Infirmary and community settings within the Wigan borough on a weekly basis.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the overall Physiotherapy process by carrying out a basic review of patients and performing procedures within agreed competency levels, including:
    • Physiotherapy patients
    • Maternity patients
    • Gym classes
    • Community hubs
    • 1:1 or group sessions
  • Gain and maintain the required knowledge and skills in pelvic health under supervision and support.
  • Take part in training, including:
    • Pelvic health team service training
    • External courses
    • Mandatory training
  • Attain and maintain necessary competencies.
  • Participate in Continuing Professional Development.
  • Carry out information collection from patients or relatives as requested by Physiotherapy staff.
  • Teach, supervise and progress treatment once competent; this may include pelvic floor exercises, bladder health and retraining, bowel health, information and exercise classes.
  • Follow treatment plans as prescribed by Physiotherapy staff and select activities that meet treatment goals.
  • Plan and prioritise own workload.
  • Work independently in a clinical setting with an assigned routine caseload, under the direction of a qualified Physiotherapist.
  • Triage pelvic health referrals and manage appointment bookings.
  • Contribute to the administrative functions of the service (e.g., booking appointments).
  • Undertake general housekeeping duties for the service.
  • Document all care given ensuring compliance with trust and local guidelines.

Qualifications

  • A good level of general education, competent computer literacy, data entry skills and knowledge of Physiotherapy interventions. Prior experience in a relevant health‑related area is advantageous.
