Subject-Specific Details

Newcastle College's Aviation Academy is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and appropriately qualified individual to take on the role of Aircraft Maintenance (Avionics) Lecturer. The primary responsibilities of this role include delivering and assessing high-quality learning programmes in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Avionics) across a range of further education and higher courses. The successful candidate will support learners in developing both the theoretical knowledge and practical competencies required to progress within the aviation maintenance industry. The role will also involve programme leadership responsibilities and contributing to the effective administration, planning, and continuous improvement of aviation programmes. This post requires a strong background in aircraft electrical and avionics systems maintenance. The successful candidate will have proven professional or vocational experience within the aviation maintenance sector either commercial or military, ideally working in a Part-145 or Part-147 training or maintenance environment, and will be able to demonstrate strong practical skills in areas such as avionics diagnostics, fault finding, system testing, and installation. An understanding of the CAA Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance Licensing framework and the knowledge requirements associated with aircraft maintenance engineering qualifications would be advantageous. The successful candidate should be able to translate their industry/military experience into engaging teaching and learning that prepares students for careers within the aviation sector.
