The role will involve the coordination and management of learner placements, ensuring students are matched to appropriate placement opportunities provided through the Employer Partnership Team.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage student placements, ensuring learners are matched to appropriate opportunities provided by the Employer Partnership Team.
- Act as the main point of contact for learners throughout the placement process, providing ongoing support and guidance from initial matching through to successful completion of their placement programme.
- Ensure a minimum of three workplace observations (for T Level learners) are completed across the duration of the placement programme, alongside assessment of placement diaries/workbooks where required.
- Ensure all placement documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date records on systems such as Grofar, and ensuring that all learner placement hours, targets, and programme requirements are achieved within agreed timelines.
- Monitor learner attendance and progress on placement (weekly or block release as appropriate), ensuring learners remain on track and addressing any issues promptly.
- Ensure learners are fully prepared for placement by supporting the completion of all pre-placement requirements (e.g. DBS checks, care certificates, CSCS cards, food hygiene) and ensuring they receive a comprehensive induction from both the College and the employer.
Required Skills and Experience
- Holds a relevant qualification.
- Substantial experience of supporting young people or learners within an education, employability or structured support environment.
- Holds English & Maths GCSE or equivalent.
- Effective communicator.
- Strong administrative skills, well organised, able to keep accurate and easily retrievable records.
- Holds a current driving licence and has use of a car.
- IT literate, experience of using MS Office software and databases.
