Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is delivering a major Electronic Patient Record (EPR) transformation to improve medicines safety, quality and efficiency across our services. We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Lead Pharmacist – Digital Medicines and EPMA to provide senior leadership for electronic prescribing and medicines administration (EPMA) across the Trust in our EPR.

This is a pivotal role within the EPR programme, responsible for the strategic development, optimisation and governance to ensure safe, effective and high‑quality medicines use. Working closely in our EPR Programme with the Assistant CCIO (Pharmacy and Medicines), digital services, clinical leaders and system suppliers, you will lead EPMA system development, upgrades and configuration, oversee clinical safety and risk management, and ensure robust training, adoption and ongoing improvement.

You will play a key role in clinical governance, data quality, prescribing safety use data to support service improvement, financial monitoring and benefits realisation.

  • Clinical governance contribution – Monitor prescribing practice, analyse high‑risk medicines use and respond to national guidance.
  • Clinical pharmacy leadership – Provide an advanced clinical pharmacy service within a designated speciality and participate in MDTs, medicines optimisation and clinical audit.
  • Education and professional development – Support education, training and professional development of pharmacy staff.
  • Professional responsibilities – Maintain professional registration and comply with Trust policies, clinical governance and information governance requirements.
