We are currently recruiting for a Landfill Supervisor – DAYS to join and lead our fantastic team based at our Hendy Landfill site near Pontyclun. The site is easily accessible and is close to Pontyclun, Llantrisant, Cardiff and the surrounding areas. Role Responsibility
The Landfill Supervisor will report directly to the Circularity Management team and be responsible for overseeing the landfill operations on our site. Safety and operational standards are the fundamentals of the role of Landfill Supervisor with managing site compliance with business policies and procedures and ensuring that adherence to Landfill legislative compliance is also a strong aspect of the role.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities of the Landfill Supervisor, not exhaustive:
- Leading and active supervisory of the operational team
- Oversee the daily demands from our business, customers, and hauliers
- Operating the landfill weighbridge when required
- Manage all aspects of daily operations; including operational costs
- Drive operational performance through agreed KPI's
- Timely resolution of queries assigned to the sector
- Take responsibility for their own safety and that of colleagues and business partners
- Maintain site housekeeping to a high standard
Key Stakeholders you will liaise with in the responsibilities of this role:

- Health & Safety team
- Procurement and support teams
- Area Operations teams
- Industry Bodies
- Customers
The role is a DAYS role working Monday to Friday with OT available to meet with the site's production needs.
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate for the position of Landfill Supervisor you will have experience and knowledge of:
Experience Required:
- COTC in Inert Waste
- Previous Landfill and supervisory experience would prove highly beneficial, but training in the necessary skills and requirements can be offered for the right candidate
- Full knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work Systems
- Working knowledge of H&S and Environmental policies
DESIRABLE Qualifications
- IOSH Managing Safely
- NVQ in fixed and mobile plant operations
- WAMITAB (CIWN)
Skills
- Able to actively identify and implement site and process improvements
- Able to effectively communicate
- Good working knowledge of IT Systems and Software packages
