A Library Assistant is the first point of contact for users of the library, dealing with the public in person and on the telephone, answering enquiries, assisting them in using self-service machines and public computers, staffing the council information point and signposting to other agencies. This part-time post is 19.50 hours at Knutsford Library.

About the Role:

  • A library assistant is the first point of contact for our customers, both in person and by phone.
  • Answering enquiries and signposting to other agencies where necessary.
  • Assisting customers in using self-service machines and public computers.
  • Staffing the council information point.
  • Assisting and running events for both adults and children.
  • Be responsible for payments relating to library and council charges and other income generation measures.
  • Deputising as necessary for the Senior Library Assistant.
